NOMAD DANCE ACADEMY begins!

NOMAD DANCE ACADEMY is a common initiative of six partner organizations from SEE region with the aim to promote, educate and collaborate in the area of contemporary dance and related arts.
NDA is developing in three parallel lines of activities:

  • Education (research and educational programme)
  • Artistic collaboration (production and co-production)
  • Promotion and information exchange

The core activity of Nomad Dance Academy is the educational program, which gathers potentials and coordinates resources on local and regional levels.

NOMAD DANCE ACADEMY is beginning with the Educational programme 2008, dedicated to 11 emerging artists in contemporary dance from the Balkans. These artists will live, learn, work and move together for 3 months, creating a network for future artistic collaboration. It will be a dynamic process of learning, exchange and creation and will take place in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.

NOMAD / Educational programme is made to improve and encourage exchange, education and creation in contemporary dance in the Balkans through a set of workshops, lectures, study visits and encounters with artists and theoreticians from all related countries and abroad.
This is an opportunity for young dancers and choreographers to upgrade their artistic expression, to enhance their career at its early stage and to make a ground for future international collaboration.

NOMAD 2008 will provide daily professional open classes, workshops and lectures from contemporary dance practice and theory, space for individual research and contacts with local and international artists and institutions.
The programme offers 11 scholarships that cover the program fee, travel expenses and accommodation during 3 months (March-June).
